Description

Width: 20 centimeters, Height: 24 centimeters, Depth: 24 centimeters

Lily is one of Quality Systems smaller so called “kit lamps” that were widely popular in the 60s and 70s following the major brake through of IKEA and their style of easy shipping, self assembly product.

This particular item was removed untouched from the box and assembled for the first time for the shooting of these images. It is sold including its original box.

Mint condition with no signs of use. Standard E14 light bulb.

Quality System was started in 1965 in Helsingør, by the artist Flemming Brylle and industrial designer Preben Jacobsen. Preben cleaned up some playing cards and suddenly got the idea to put together a lamp by cutting 40 cards so that they could be inserted into each other and form a sculpture. Together with his friend Flemming Brylle, he now developed the first lamp, made of a transparent material: antistatic polyacrylic, (a type of plastic) in many pieces that could be easily sent and collected by the customers, the model was called Cosmo Light.

I try to make the pictures reflect the true look, color and condition of the piece. If you have any questions or want additional photos please send a PM before buying.
