Description
This is a large and very rare pendant light from the Swedish light master Hans-Agne Jakobsson. The 50 cm wide TL 21 Rapidus was mainly intended for public buildings.
Sometimes found with a circular tube light but in this case it is fitted with a three bulb socket system which gives a much more pleasant light. The perforations on the top of this flying saucer looking light gives an amazing light effect in the ceiling or room which is hard to capture on camera. It has some scratches here and there as seen in the photos but no dents.
As seen in one of the photos I actually have two of these light in case someone needs to light up a long dining-room table. If you are interested in both lights send a PM and I will offer a good bundle price. The price in this listing is for the one that is in all the single images.
The lamp is rewired and takes 3x E27 light bulbs.
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was undeniably one of the world’s most versatile and productive lighting designers and manufacturers in the fifties, sixties and seventies. He was also one of the best and most important designers in the Scandinavian era of golden and soft non-dazzle light. His earlier designs follow Scandinavian giants such as Poul Henningsen, Paavo Tynell and Alvar Aalto and he should be seen as important as the concurrent world renowned Nordic lighting designers Greta Magnusson-Grossman, Lisa Johansson-Pape, Verner Panton and Jo Hammerborg.
I try to make the pictures reflect the true look, color and condition of the piece. If you have any questions or want additional photos please send a PM before buying.
